{Spotlight Project} Shirley's Inspired by Friedensreich Hundertwasser - Take Two

Hi folks, I'm back with another helping of Hundertwasser. I make no apologies for bringing you more of the same, because I found so much inspiration from this one person's work. Today's card uses a similar process to last week's, and is so suited to using the fabulous Retro Mod Shapes set.

This one is based on Hundertwasser's painting, 'Silent Flowers'.

I stamped the three circles, then got to work with my Posca pen, drawing three stems, then a horizontal line, then the cup shape, then the horizontal lines in the cup, then the handle.

In the background of the top section, I used my Dotta-Riffic pens to add dots of varying colour and size, and drew rings of colour inside the circle flowers.

Then I coloured in the sections of the cup, taking care to leave some white space or lighter areas in each section. I added some horizontal lines to the lower background area then coloured in the resulting stripes.

Here's another look at the finished card. I added the sentiment at a jaunty angle (he didn't like straight lines).

Again, the colour of the base card changes the mood of the panel. I went for lime green to emphasise the green in the flowers and the handle, and because there were only two horizontal stripes in lime it helped to balance the colour distribution. A bit like a capital letter and a full stop, it encloses everything within it. Period.
